One of the things I really looked forward to when we moved to Montana was having a garden. Terry and I put in two 4'x12' raised beds and we built a fence around it. (We thought for deer but actually the steers in the adjoining pasture has been a bigger problem as they are wonderful escape artists, who knew?) We planted, lettuce, carrots, swiss chard, kale, onions, leeks, tomatos, zucchini, cukes, beets, basil, potatos, arugula, raspberry - oh and I had to try eggplant. It's been a wonderful growing season here in the Bitterroot. There's something pretty amazing about eating a scrumptious salad from your garden.

Sometimes I just sit in my garden and look at everything. It's very therapeutic! |

Except for the olive oil and the cheese,
everything was from our garden for this little caprese salad!
Yum! |
