It's Time . . . . .

I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky.  And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.

                                                                John Masefield

Here's a few pictures of our "new" boat.  Her current name is Obsession but we are hoping to change it to Time.  We'll see. If you have any good ideas for names let us know!  She's a 1980 37' Hunter Cherubini.  My Captain :) did alot of research on the Cherubini's as well as many, many other boats we were looking at online and the Hunter Cherubini's seem to be great, solid, well sailing boats.  She is known as one of Hunter's best designs.

The outside is in really good shape but the inside needs a bit of elbow grease (as you'll see in the pictures below).  The surveyor who checked the boat out (kind of like a home inspection). Said that he was very impressed with the overall condition of the boat.  So here's a few pictures of our new home:

One of the couches in the saloon (old sailors term for cabin.)  The Encyclopedia of Nautical Knowledge defines saloon as:  “In a cargo and smaller passenger vessels, the main cabin, or that serving as a dining-room, assembly room, etc.”  aka So this is where we eat, cook, socialize and hang out when the weather is icky.  Otherwise we're topside.  :)

Navigation table and yes, that's a flat screen tv above.
(We do love to watch a good movie now and then.  Especially on a rainy day.)

My galley.  I always wanted a u shaped galley.  All the brightwork (woodwork) needs refinished.  Like I said, lots of elbow grease.  So if anyone would like to come to North Carolina in a few months to help with sanding we are taking all volunteers.  :)

Terry flies back home today so hopefully he'll have a few more pictures to share and I'll post  those as well.

On a very important note, we are so excited about the Annual Meeting this coming weekend.  The letter they read at our meeting last night used the word "historic".  I'm sure it's one that we'll remember and talk about for a long time.  Ours is being held on Sunday at 9:00 am in Salmon, Idaho.  The faithful slave is certainly feeding us well.
