Splash time for Obsession

We pulled into North Carolina on Saturday.

The instant you step out of the car you feel a difference in the air.  The air feels heavier and more fragranced with late blooming tropical flowers.  That along with the heavily accented southern voices hollerin' at one another across the way adds to the overall feeling of being in a foreign place.

On Sunday we went to meeting which was so nice.  The Washington Congregation has both an english and a spanish congregation.  The english congregation was very welcoming and kind.  No handshakes in this congregation, only hugs. After meeting, our dear friends Bill and Paulette Dail met us for lunch. The Dail's are an amazing couple we met in St. John.  They live in Raleigh right now, though their heart is in St. John.

Today it was time to get crackin!  I felt a bit overwelmed, but as I started cleaning found my groove.  It helps that our new boat has a decent stereo system.  A little Kenny Chesney always sets the mood when you're on a boat.  Terry was busy running around trying to find the best buy on 6 volt golf cart batteries and find a used dinghy and a satellite phone, along with a gazillion other things while I was fighting cockroaches. I think he had the better job today. I've only found three so far, but where there's three there's probably many more.

We decided that getting the boat in the water was our next priority.  So here's a couple of videos of them getting Obsession in the water today.  She was tucked away in the corner of the boat yard so it was a tight fit getting her out. Finally though he was able to squee-jaw enough to get her going in the right direction.  It made me nervous, but the driver didn't seem worried. In fact at one point he was on his cell phone, so it obviously was just another day at the office for him.

Then they carried her across the road to put her in the water.

After that we had to bring her into her slip and tie up.  We worked a few more hours cleaning and just working on maintenance and such.

Sunset driving back home this evening.
