Even in Paradise a little rain must fall . . .

So even here in paradise we have a bad day.  First off, it's been raining buckets (which we desperately need on the island, its been very dry, fairly typical for March and April though) which makes for a stuffy, warm boat which is always a bit unpleasant. With every rain squall you are running around closing hatches and bringing in seat cushions.  Well, at least the first part, we always forget to grab the seat cushions and thus have wet behinds for part of the day from sitting on soggy cushions.

Since the island is beginning to dry up however, we are thankful for the rain, even though we know this is going to bring a horrendous mosquitoe infestation over the next week.  So I'll be carrying bug spray everywhere and spraying down with good ole DEET.  Just another day in Paradise . . .

But I digress, it truly started this morning with the dinghy not wanting to start.  We had fuel but it was a bit low so I picked some up at the gas station after dropping Terry off for work.  The gas can is one of those kinds where you twist a section and interlock it with another section which allows the gas mixture to flow from the gas can to your gas tank.  You get it?  Yah, neither did I. I thought I did, but upon execution something was going wrong and gas was going everywhere but in the gas tank. I double checked that I had the lid on properly, tried it again, no go.  So I pulled our the oars and rowed to the boat instead.  Which upon reflection this offered me a great core workout for the morning.

Once I got back to the boat I reheated my unfinished morning brew and heard that awful sound of water sloshing and gurgling on the inside of the boat. I knew that sound and thought I had forgot to push the toilet water intake to the right, thus closing off the seawater intake. Nope, that wasn't the problem. We just bought a new pump for the head yesterday but in the interim of the replacement it decided to belch out poo water all over my bathroom one last time.  So after cleaning and bathing in bleach water I finally got a chance to enjoy that reheated coffee... oh, gotta go, another rain squall just started!

Have a great day and remember it's just another day in Paradise!  :)
