Keep Seeking God's Kingdom! Regional Convention, St. Croix, USVI

We had the opportunity to have our Regional Convention this year in St. Croix, about 40 miles south of St. John.  It is the largest of the US Virgin Islands.  Brothers and sisters from St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, 3 publishers from Anegada, St. John and of course St. Croix all attend this convention. We had about 650 in attendance, plus our tie ins to the states which amounted to over 109,000 people We were tied into the International in Atlanta, Georgia.  Some of the other regionals that were tied in were, Bermuda, Bahamas and Puerto Rico.  It was the most amazing convention as I am sure you will all agree! We had Anthony Morris III as our Governing Body speaker.  He was fantastic!

We sailed Obsession to St. Croix on Wednesday.  It took 10 hours to sail her there and 5 to sail her back!  It was the perfect day coming back!  After such a spiritually encouraging weekend we didn't want to go back to the "real" world!

Here are just a few pictures of the weekend:

This was my little shadow the entire weekend.  Yael is four years old.  He has the most amazing family!  They live on St. Croix.  Someone was handing out pins that said jw.org and then Caleb and Sophia pins for the kids.  He wore his Caleb pin every day.  Too cute!

My friends, Tracy and Angie.  Tracy on the left was baptized on Saturday.  It's funny because about 10 years ago we rode in the same taxi with her family at that convention which was when her Mom was baptized.  And this year she was baptized.

My friends Suzette (left) and Kia (center) were baptized on Saturday as well.

We had an 8 year old and a 91 year old baptized on that Saturday.  It was very touching.

Our friend Adrian Fahie.  He and his wife Michele are serving in Sierra Leone as missionaries.  They have been there for about 2 years.

Tameeka.  She had one of the the interviews for the talk Terry gave regarding persecution.  She's only been baptized for about 5 years but such a spiritual sister.

We sat for about 20 minutes after the last song and prayer on Sunday just watching all the great banners that the friends at the International in Atlanta had made.  For those of you who may not be aware this year was special for Jehovah's Witnesses.  It marks the 100th year of God's Kingdom beginning it's rule in 1914 (see JW.org for more details or email me. :) and it also was the first time we were tied in via internet to various International Conventions stateside.  It was very exciting!

It was happy times that we didn't want to see end! That weekend truly gave us a taste of what the new world will be like.  No borders, no passports, just happy people all serving our great God Jehovah! "How good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!"
