One of Terry's favorite songs right now is a Jimmy Buffet tune. He plays it over and over and says it's his "happy song". The chorus in part goes like this:
But there's this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear
We are always joking about where our "one particular harbour" is. Jimmy Buffet found his "particular harbour" in Cook's Bay on the island of Moorea in Tahiti. We may have found ours (at least so far, but we'll keep searching a bit longer) on Culebrita, PR. Culebrita is a small deserted island east of Culebra about 20 miles from St. John. Tortuga Beach is located on the north side of Culebrita, is almost deserted this time of year and was a picturesque spot for five days of sun and sand and lots of relaxation. Here's a few pictures from the trip. And yes, we were singing the song all week. :)
View from the Culebrita Lighthouse. Yep, that's our little boat in the bay to the left. |
Terry shimmied up a coconut palm and got us some coconuts. Ah, rum and fresh coconut water can't be beat. |
