Ensenada Honda, Culebra, Puerto Rico

Ensenada Honda is the main harbor on the island of Culebra in Puerto Rico.  A large, well protected harbor flanked with mangroves to the east was our home two days of our trip.  A short dinghy ride to Dewey found what is the common malady in the Caribbean right now.  No tourists.  Thus nothing, and I mean literally nothing was open.  Yet, we made the most of it and enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.

Sail Rock in the background just a few miles from St. Thomas.
They had the prettiest most vibrantly colored iguanas.  Very different from the ones on St. John.

Check out this great slogan for a business.

I've mentioned this before but one of the best things about traveling is meeting new friends. There is a Spanish congregation just outside of Dewey along with an English group which was formed 4 months ago.  It's always the highlight to get together with our brothers and sisters!  It was worth staying the extra day.

As is common in the US territories the English group was an eclectic group made up of friends from the states and from Puerto Rico. We definitely will be coming back later this season to hang out with them more.

The English group meets in the former literature room.  There are about 13 publishers.  They have a public talk about once a month and a Watchtower study every Sunday. When they don't have an English public talk they meet with the Spanish.

After Sunday meeting we weighed anchor and headed to Culebrita.
